History of  Cobra One M/C Inc.

Cobra One M/C was founded in 1990 and became incorporated in 1992. 12 people Charles Taley, Wallace Jackson, Cornelius Wyche, Leon Harris, Jimmy Richardson, Thomas Coy, Moe Townes, Rodney Fireson, Dian Jones, Larry Martin, Frank Goode, and Nelson Hurt would meet up every Sunday evening at Chimborazo Park riding and having fun, not knowing that they where forming a bond for life, not knowing that they where to become founders of somthing bigger than just a ride.

The Patch or Colors, was created by Charles Talley, founder and former president of the group, and later revised by Elton Thornton (E.Z.L.) in 2002.

During the Vietnam War era., as Charles Talley served his country, like so many others, he dreamed of home and what to do when he got back. So he came up with the idea of serving the community by building an organization, that organization would be called Cobra One, which was his call name in the military.

Cobras now have 34 members in Richmond Virginia, the Mother Chapter, and a Chapter in Asbury N.J., a Social Club in South Richmond, and a Motor Car Club in Powhatan, Va. We donate time and money to various charities, churches, and families though out this great Nation.

Our motto is "We Ride By Faith Not By Sight", "It's Not Just A Ride It's A Way Of Life". We pride ourself on being a close knit family, loving and supporting each other.

Commitment and Dedication Beyond Life as A Cobra

My name is Leon (Stickman) Harris

I started riding bikes in 1970.   I always wanted to join a bike club but couldn't find one that seemed to be right for me.  I started riding with friends whom I had known for a long time.  After I learned to ride, the guys told me to meet them at a certain location and then we would ride to New Kent to the races.  I had never been on the Interstate but didn't want to tell anybody that.  So I put my helmet, gloves, and my sunglasses on, and started up my 1000 Kawasaki.  When we hit the Interstate, the guys were going at 65 miles per hour, so fast that it made my sunglasses slide down low on my nose.  I was so scared I didn't dare take my hands off the handlebar to pull my glasses back up.  When we got to new Kent, the guys had a few good laughs at me and how I was riding.   I learned a lot from that ride.  I gained more confidence in my riding, although for a while I was still a little nervous every time I went out.   The more I rode, the better I was at it.  My confidence grew to a level that made me the rider I am today.

I am one of the original members of Cobra One MC.Before the club was formed and had a name, a few us met on Sundays in Chimborazo Park to take a ride. After doing this for a year or two, Papa Smurf came up with the idea of forming a club. This is just what we were waiting for and we all joined the club – Cobra One Motor Cycle Club. After we were formed, officers were selected as our membership started to grow.More and more riders were interested in joining.  Read More
