History of  Cobra One M/C Inc.

Cobra One M/C was founded in 1990 and became incorporated in 1992. 12 people Charles Taley, Wallace Jackson, Cornelius Wyche, Leon Harris, Jimmy Richardson, Thomas Coy, Moe Townes, Rodney Fireson, Dian Jones, Larry Martin, Frank Goode, and Nelson Hurt would meet up every Sunday evening at Chimborazo Park riding and having fun, not knowing that they where forming a bond for life, not knowing that they where to become founders of somthing bigger than just a ride.

The Patch or Colors, was created by Charles Talley, founder and former president of the group, and later revised by Elton Thornton (E.Z.L.) in 2002.

During the Vietnam War era., as Charles Talley served his country, like so many others, he dreamed of home and what to do when he got back. So he came up with the idea of serving the community by building an organization, that organization would be called Cobra One, which was his call name in the military.

Cobras now have 34 members in Richmond Virginia, the Mother Chapter, and a Chapter in Asbury N.J., a Social Club in South Richmond, and a Motor Car Club in Powhatan, Va. We donate time and money to various charities, churches, and families though out this great Nation.

Our motto is "We Ride By Faith Not By Sight", "It's Not Just A Ride It's A Way Of Life". We pride ourself on being a close knit family, loving and supporting each other.

Commitment and Dedication Beyond Life as A Cobra

  Hey Family!

Last week, Garrett completed his 3rd and most challenging season of Track & Field.  It started with a goal of trying out a new team with specific training geared toward developing his speed and agility for football; progressed to a desire to commit 100% to the new squad with renewed interest in seeing how far he could go and improve in this new setting; met with some adversity with growing pains; and ended in accomplishing ultimate highs that any 11 year old kid could only dream of realizing.

As most, if not all of you knew, Garrett qualified to run three events at this year's Junior Olympics which was held at the Eastern Michigan University Campus near Detroit, Michigan.  "…to see how far he could go…" was putting it lightly.  While he never said it out loud, the thought of making it there was evidently on his mind throughout the season.  So much so, that come qualifying weekend in San Ysidro, he came out of a 4 week rest from dealing with Osgood-Schlatter to knock down a couple of PRs and qualify to run the 200M, 400M and 800M events in Detroit!

Before I get to the finals details and standings, I wanted to say "thank you" to each and every one of you for the constant support, love and encouragement you've all shown Garrett throughout this process.  It was a new experience in many ways for all of us and I couldn't be more proud of how he's handled and challenged himself from the beginning of the process on down to competing in this year's Junior Olympics.  He wanted to make some great memories that he could talk to his kids about…but I don't think he realizes yet just what kind of memories he's made for us…

 Warmest regards,

Tony
